Google does not read the keywords meta tag

I still get many requests to program my websites with keyword meta tags. This consists of a long list of words separated by commas that are relevant to the content of the website – invisible because they reside in the coding of the page(s). However, Google no longer takes those hidden keywords into account when ranking a page.
